The nearest large town of Lagos, less than 4 miles away by car or bus, is thought by many to be the best town in the Algarve. It has picturesque cobbled streets, a marina and hundreds of interesting shops, cafes and restaurants, all with a lively, congenial atmosphere.

Other interesting places to visit include several nearby sandy coves, and the miles of golden sands at Meia Praia, the cliffs at Sagres, the most south westerly point in Europe, once thought to be the end of the world, and the attractive woodlands on the Monchique mountains.
